Description

Hiring the Theatre/Café

The Bowraville Theatre may be hired for many different types of events. The auditorium contains 208 permanent seats and has a dance floor for more seating or other use. There is reserved space in the upper part of the auditorium for wheel chairs.

The café has seating for approximately 35 people.  Enjoy refreshments and a coffee in the relaxed atmosphere.

Bowraville Arts Council Inc. 

The Arts Council is a non-profit organisation which runs the Bowraville Theatre with a team of volunteer members. Membership is open to all.  Individual membership costs $22, group membership $44 and youth membership $10.  There is a volunteer program for those who would like to participate in  running the theatre.  If you are unemployed why not consider a Community Work Placement or Work For The Dole programs. Please telephone the theatre office for more detail

 Veranada Post Films

Produces and make films. In July 2005 they received a grant enabling them to buy professional camera and editing equipment. This group won ‘The People's Choice" at the 2004 Cool Bananas Film Festival in Coffs Harbour. There are DVD's available of films created by the Verandah Post Films. Please contact the Theatre on 02 65647808 or email them on bowravilletheatre@bigpond.com if you wish to order a copy of one of these films.

Some films are available of past productions on DVD (Filmed and Produced by V.P.F. All DVD's are presently priced at around $10.00, this is subject to change at the discretion of V.P.F.

 Nambucca Valley Writers Group

Many published authors are part of this diverse Group. They meet regularly and in particular foster up and coming young writers.  They are experienced in the self publishing field and can offer assistance and support to anyone who wishes to become a successful author.

 One of the authors from the writers group Noel Robertson has two books for sale at the Theatre.

 Bowraville Theatre Film Society

The group meets once a month at the theatre for supper Society and to enjoy  classic/art house films. 

Bowraville Theatre Singers

The singers perform at a variety of functions. This diversified and vibrant group meets weekly and continues to grow under the guidance of their highly qualified musical director.

Bowraville Theatre Players

A dynamic team who are learning all facets of acting and stagecraft . They have successfully produced several plays for the theatre to packed houses. Their recent production of "Cinderella" was a huge success.

Volunteer Programme

The Theatre is run solely by volunteers who operate both the stage/auditorium and café.  Volunteering for the Theatre brings many rewards and many new friendships are formed. There is something for everyone!
